With the new Black Series, Mercedes has once again managed to top its predecessor….in detail. With an output of 720 hp from an 8-cylinder bi-turbo engine, the Black Series is able to make a sprint from 0 to 166 mph in just 3.2 seconds. With a staggering 800 Newton meters at the rear axle and a sophisticated Aero-Dynamic package, the Black Series can reach a top speed of over 201 miles per hour.
A new feature of the Black Series is the new crankshaft design, also called ” flat plane “. The engines turn higher and thus exploit the rev band for more power.
