Automobili Lamborghini presented at the 76th Car Show in Geneva, the new Lamborghini Murciélago in heavily revised form and with a new name: 640 Lamborghini Murciélago LP. The term refers to the motor position (longitudinale posteriore) and to the performance of 631 hp. The new edition of the successful super sports car has extensive modifications to the bodywork and mechanics. Since his debut at the International Motor Show (IAA) 2001 in Frankfurt, around 2,000 units left the factory in Sant’Agata. In detail, the stylists and engineers revised engine, suspension, gearbox, exhaust system, brakes and electronics, as well as exterior and interior design. These improvements make the Lamborghini Murciélago LP 640 final for extreme and fastest sports car in its class, and therefore the ultimate driving machine.
