The Pagani Huayra is an Italian mid-engined limited production sports car produced by Pagani Automobili SpA in Modena, Italy. It’s principle features of specification, inspired by Horacio Pagani’s belief in art and science psychologies combined, are the all carbon and unique carbotanium monocoque chassis, offering class leading stiffness and strength, yet weighing only 1350 kg complete, the specially configured AMG Mercedes Benz twin turbo V12 motor producing 730 bhp, transmitted by the ultra-lightweight Xtrac 7 speed semi-automatic transmission package. With close cooperation from suppliers such as Brembo, Pirelli, Aspa, Gruppo Dani, MHG Group, Sonus Faber and AMG, the entire automobile is hand crafted to the highest level of finish. Supreme performance and safety are assured via the unique active aerodynamics package, the carbon ceramic disc brake and the circuit inspired suspension systems. It is the successor to the truly iconic Pagani Zonda, specifically developed from the Zonda R circuit–only derivation. It offers the driver the option of a 230 mph type performance and tactility, whilst travelling in comfort and a unique style normally associated with private jets. List price today is 1,056,000 Euros ex-factory plus bespoke customer details, and subject to a 15 month production delay as only 30 new Huayra are produced annually. The Huayra name comes from the Argentinian God of Wind, Huayra Tata. When released in 2012, the Huayra won three major ‘Car of the Year’ awards. EVO magazine declared it ‘Car of the Year’, CAR magazine acclaimed it as ‘Performance Car of the Year’ and BBC’s Top Gear awarded it ‘Hypercar of the Year’ after The Stig recorded an amazing and fastest ever 1.13.8 secs on the Top Gear test track and Richard Hammond passed on his fullest approval of Horacio Pagani’s art form in the most glowing terms.
